At the intersection of art, craft, and material innovation, this custom island emerged through a collaboration between Architectural Grille, Richard Anuszkiewicz of Raith Design, and Paul Grothouse of Grothouse.
Led by Richard Anuszkiewicz, the design brings clarity and cohesion to the concept of collaboration, transforming it into a striking and purposeful form. His direction elevates the piece beyond function, shaping a dynamic composition where every detail feels intentional.
Created as a centerpiece for a trade show booth, the piece was designed to do more than display - Warm, rich wood forms the foundation, showcasing Grothouse’s mastery of natural materials and impeccable design. Layered within it, Architectural Grille’s precision-crafted metal detailing introduces rhythm, contrast, and depth. The interplay between the two materials transforms the island into a compelling visual dialogue - where structure meets ornament, and tradition meets modern expression.
Rather than competing, wood and metal elevate one another. The result is a product that invites viewers to reconsider the role of metal in fine woodworking.
