CASE STUDY: The Venetian Resort-Hotel-Casino

The Client:

The Venetian Resort-Hotel-Casino, located in Las Vegas, is the largest property in the USA to receive AAA’s Five Diamond and Forbes Travel Guide Four Star awards. The all-suite resort is LEED EB Gold certified (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), with more than 4,000 suites ranging from the 650-square-foot Luxury Suite to the 10,000-square-foot Chairman Suite.

Parent Company, Las Vegas Sands Corp. (LVS) is committed to environmental responsibility by promoting sustainable development, reducing the impact of their operations on the natural environment and enhancing the resort experience of guests as well as the quality of life in the communities in which LVS operates. Sands Eco 360 is a global sustainability strategy with the primary objective to continuously improve the stewardship of the environment and consist of four priorities: Green Building, Environmentally Responsible Operations, Green Meetings and Sustainability Education and Outreach.

The Project:

The Venetian Resort-Hotel-Casino is undergoing a $100-million renovation with completion due Fall 2012. KNA Interior Design of Los Angeles will update 3,014 suites in The Venetian to incorporate a distinctly modern European design with contemporary touches exclusive to The Venetian Resort-Hotel-Casino, including carpets, furniture and fixtures.

The Venetian is one of the most luxurious properties in Las Vegas. Exemplary service, dining, entertainment, shopping and extraordinary accommodations define the true Venetian experience,” said Rob Goldstein, president and chief operating officer of The Venetian. “This renovation places us ahead of the curve in a highly competitive tourist destination. These suites set the standard for luxury hotel accommodations not only on the Las Vegas Strip but in the world.

The Solution:

Las Vegas Sands Corp. turned to Architectural Grille for decorative HVAC overlay grilles to transform the traditional PTAC units. The resort elected not to remove these existing units during the renovation to reduce the amount of time that the Suites were not occupied, and therefore not generating revenue.

Architectural Grille was able to accommodate the request for a cost-effective and time-efficient product, as well as be in accordance with the company’s Sands Eco 360 environmental strategy by using recycled aluminum. The result was a decorative HVAC grille overlay unit that re˝ected The Venetian’s signature elegance and “old-world” style in renovated suites at The Venetian Resort-Hotel-Casino..

The Product:

Design: Majestic
Material: Recycled Aluminum
Finish: Baked Enamel
